Covid-19: Portugal with 15 more deaths and 541 new cases. Hospital stays continue to decline coronavirus

Portugal recorded 15 more deaths from Covid-19 and 541 new infections from SARS-CoV-2. The dates appear in the latest bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS), published this Sunday and affecting Saturday.

In terms of hospitalization, there are fewer four people in the hospital and fewer eleven in the intensive care unit. A total of 976 people are admitted to hospitals in the country, including 242 in intensive care units.

Over 3,158 out of a total of 759,417 people recovered. There are fewer 2632 active cases (38,156 total). And there are 500 fewer monitoring contacts (16,715 in total).

In the different regions of the country, six of the 15 deaths occurred in the Lisbon region and the Tagus Valley, where there were more than 242 new cases. Then both the north and the center recorded four deaths in each of the regions. However, the central area, with more than 115 new cases, saw more new infections on that final day than the northern area, which confirmed 108 new cases.

In Alentejo there was one record of one death and 27 new cases. There are no records of deaths on Saturday in the Algarve (plus nine cases), Madeira (plus 30 infections) and the Azores (plus 10 new cases).

Since the pandemic began in the country, 16,684 people have died of Covid-19 and 814,257 have already contracted the infection.

In the previous bulletin, Portugal had recorded 19 more deaths from Covid-19 and 564 new cases of infection, with hospital admissions falling back below a thousand.
