Covid-19: Portugal has 718 cases, the lowest daily number since October | Covid-19

Portugal registered 718 cases of Covid-19 infection on Saturday, the lowest daily number of infections since October 6 – when 427 were discovered. The epidemiological bulletin, published this Sunday, also reports 41 deaths caused by the virus on Saturday.

Since October 7, Portugal has registered no less than a thousand new daily cases of Covid-19.

On this Saturday, the number of people recovered rose by a further 1,664 people. There have been a total of 718,977 recoveries since the first case of infection in the country.

Just like yesterday, the number of hospitalizations and patients in the intensive care unit fell. At the end of Saturday there were 2,165 hospitalizations, 15 fewer than on Friday. In the most serious cases, 484 patients are now admitted to intensive care units, eight fewer than on Friday.

Since the pandemic began, health officials have identified 804,562 infections with 16,317 deaths from the new coronavirus.

On Friday (bulletin published on Saturday) Portugal recorded 1071 cases of infection from Covid-19 and 33 deaths caused by the virus.

According to the National Statistics Office, the daily average of new cases has not been so low since October.
