Fonte da Vila Single Vineyard 2017: a white of great “finesse”, pure and transparent | review

Quinta da Biaia is located on the east side of the slopes of the Serra da Marofa. The vineyards are at an average altitude of 750 m, making them the highest in Portugal. Of the farm’s hundred hectares, only about 30 are inhabited by vineyards spread over three different parcels, Lameiras, Souto and Alvandeira, on land ranging from granite to quartz, slate and clay, in an orography that protects and offers them from sea breezes a harsh climate with large thermal amplitudes, rare precipitation and high solar radiation.
