Miguel Monteiro breaks world record for introducing adjusted weights | athletics

This Sunday, Miguel Monteiro broke the world record for the start of weight in the F40 category, short stature, adapted athletics and threw the ball from four kilograms to 11.01 meters.

The 20-year-old athlete from Casa do Povo de Mangualde with the best mark of the year of 10.70 meters set the mark during the preparatory tournament, which takes place at the same time as the combined Portuguese championships on the indoor track.

The previous world record of 10.88 meters belonged to two athletes, Iraqi Garrah Tnaiash, who hit that mark in Jakarta, Indonesia, in October 2018, and Russian Denis Gnezdilov, who hit that record in November 2019 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
