For a more sustainable world, students from Coimbra sponsor a week of “webinars” | sustainability

The energy transition and the growth of the renewable energy market are increasingly on the agenda, and students from the Faculty of Science and Technology at Coimbra University (UC) do not want to be left behind in the discussion.

From February 22nd to 26th (with a break on February 25th) the WIEEEK for Sustainable and Circular Economy is a week of free webinars hosted by the UC Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). According to P3 Jônatas Manzolli, organizer and moderator of the event, the aim is “to discuss the importance of the energy transition to renewable solutions and how they can be put into the current context, which has a significant impact on the way in which how we deal with energy ”. .

This requires a “convergence between the small actions of people and those of large companies in order to understand how sustainability is thought and done,” explains Jônatas.

The week has guests from various climate protection companies and the energy sector, from Matriz and Planar to MegaWhat and Solve, but make no mistake if you think the conversations are getting too technical. “Our idea is that this week is comprehensive for every type of person. We spoke to all the speakers to use more comprehensive language so that everyone can interact and understand the topic better, ”says the organizer.
