A man wearing a cap and surgical mask, who appeared to be between 50 and 60 years old, was attacked this Monday, February 15. The agency of Caixa de Crédito Agrícola in Vila Real took 1215 euros and said a PSP source.
The police source told the Lusa agency that the alarm for the robbery in this bank branch in the center of the city of Vila Real was raised at 10:55 am and that the proceedings were started immediately to identify and intercept the suspect.
According to the police, the man allegedly went to the counter at Caixa Agrícola and threatened with a firearm, although he did not issue it, forced the officer and took 1,215 euros in a pocket. Then, according to PSP, the person was seen walking towards Rua Direita de Vila Real, a pedestrian street.
According to the description to the police, the suspect will have “medium-sized”, “white hair”, appear to be in his fifties or sixties and wear “a coat, cap and surgical mask”.
At the time of the robbery, there were no customers in the bank branch.
The PSP activated the elements of general patrol and criminal investigation. Since it was an attack on a banking institution, the investigation was forwarded to the judicial police (PJ).
