Telecom operators will be able to restrict or block access to non-essential services for internet broadband such as video games and digital platforms starting Monday if this is necessary to protect critical government services.
Digital platforms such as Netflix and Youtube, as well as the video game signal, can be blocked to ensure the continuity of electronic communication services to hospitals or security forces. The order and the traffic are determined by a government decree published this Saturday in Diário da República and which comes into force “on February 15th at 00:00”.
