‘Living with Multiple Sclerosis’
In fall of 2008 my youngest sister became ill. She was extremely tired and the right side of her body was tingly or numb and she could barely write. As a single mother of elementary school children, she was very frustrated with this strange virus. Casey and Kayla spent several days at my house while their mother went to doctors. At 26 years old, no one wanted to say the words that seemed to be prevalent. After a number of MRI’s in April of 2009, Sarah was finally was told by a team of doctors that she had Multiple Sclerosis, there was no cure and no one knew what to expect next.

Kelso Longview Chamber Awards Banquet draws crowd

Every two years the Kelso-Longview Chamber takes a moment to reflect back on those that have helped make the Chamber a success. Simple decorations and great jazz music, being played by Heads on Fire, graced the St. Helens Room at the Cowlitz Regional Conference Center as people were greeted at the door by Amy Johnson and Norma Davey.

The Bugler’s Take on the Town Hall

Citizens of Cowlitz County and beyond met at the Cowlitz Regional Conference Center on Wednesday August 19, 2009 for a town hall meeting with Congressman Brian Baird. As the group made it through the labyrinth of exhibits for different sides of the hot issue of the night: Health Care Reform, there was a buzz in the air comprised of both concern and interest felt by all. As the meeting began, the mediator, Ted Sprague, asked the audience for courtesy from an already gracious group.
