The Art of Quilting

If you have ever driven about certain areas in Longview and outlying communities I’m sure you have been aware of the different styles of architecture meeting your eyes….especially the lovely 1920’s era Bungalows….reminiscent of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Prairie Style designs. They are accumulated in those areas and are a delight, just like visiting a Museum of these houses. Some are a bit in need of repairs, others are in pristine shape, thanks to their appreciative owners.

Summer music, art, culture & history

Have you ever taken a stroll in Downtown Longview during a Friday evening “LIVE”? It’s truly an Art, Music, Culture and History experience. There are so many things going on in this our beautiful small city.  Everywhere from the Rose Center for the Arts to the Thursday Evening Music Events at Lake Sacajawea, our own downtown “Pet Works” with a great Steel Band, and even Wine Tasting from a St. Helen’s Winery at Teague’s, and another at the Deli.

It’s just amazing how the Arts have flourished in our beautiful Downtown. When we first opened a business on Commerce (1988) there wasn’t much going on Artwise, or any other “wise” since all the anchor stores had recently moved to three rivers mall. “Desolate” described it better than any other word.
