We Get Letters – August 2010

August 1, 2010 by Valley Bugler

OPEN SEASON
“I have tried Mel Larsen’s smoked Salmon…all I can say is W O W! The boy really knows how to brine and fixed smoked Salmon. Problem is he hasn’t had much time this season to fix up some more  of his very tastey delicacy lately. He makes me beg for another piece of his tender masterpiece…..and I admit I do till he graciously consents to give me some…the rascal.
You folks up there Castle Rock way who like smoked Salmon – try Mel’s way of brineing it. You will be most gald you have!”

“We’re up on MT. Hood, my husband gets your paper and I HAVE ENJOYED IT, especially the little dittlies, like the one with the mother in the grocery store, I wish our paper here was this good! Thank you!”
- Jessica Day, Mt. Hood Oregon

“Dear Michelle, Thank you again! (For running the Hidden Bugle search, and for me being one of the $50 winners!). Lots of folks are carrying the Bugler around these days!”
- Doris Mask, Kelso WA
Editor’s Note: This came on a cute postcard with a cutout of a little boy holding a rather large Bugle along with his school books. ☺

“Thank you! for printing our article in the July Bugler to advertise the July 11 free BlueGrass and Gospel concert held in Centralia – we had a full-house audience who enjoyed the superb musical presentations !
By the way, your newspaper reached into the Portland, OR area as one caller inquired for specific details on how to locate the concert.  We are glad to know how far-reaching the Bugler news travels.”

- Betty J Petty, Winlock WA
