PUD Launches Refrigerator-Freezer Recycling Program

Cowlitz PUD’s newest residential energy conservation program offers customers a $30 check for recycling an old refrigerator or freezer.
“An old refrigerator can use a lot of electricity, which really becomes wasteful and costly if it’s only being used to store a few items. This program offers our customers an incentive to safely recycle an old refrigerator or freezer, and on top of that they will reduce their electric bill pretty significantly,” PUD Conservation Manager Jim Wellcome said.

Yeeee Haw!!! Castle Rock First Baptist Church wishes to invite all children, ages 4 through 12, to “Saddle Ridge Ranch” Vacation Bible School from June 21st-25th, at 9:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Free of charge, each morning will have a time of music, crafts, Bible lessons, games, and snacks and surprises. Those who register early (prior to Monday, June 21st) will receive a free bandana!

As they passed the cookie section, the little girl asked for cookies and her mother told her, “No.” The little girl immediately began to whine and fuss, and the mother said quietly, “Now Monica, we just have half of the aisles left to go through – don’t be upset. June 2010, the 7th annual Great Outdoors Month, highlights the benefits of fresh air, exercise, and volunteering at the park. Turn off the “tube” and jump IN a “tube” for some outdoor fun!
Another focus of this special month is the younger generation. Kids, teens and 20-somethings are spending too much time with their computers, computer games and television sets.
