Photography Exhibit: ‘In the moment’

March 1, 2010 by Valley Bugler

Opens Feb. 11 at LCC Art Gallery

“In the Moment,” an exhibit of photographs by Ken Turner of Seattle, has opened and runs Thursday, Feb. 11 – March 12 at The Art Gallery in the Lower Columbia College Rose Center for the Arts. The artists were  honored at a free opening reception that evening from 5 until 7 p.m.

Turner’s exhibit features photographic compositions of motion and time. “My photos are open-ended narratives where the viewer finishes the story,” says Turner. “They are studies of time and motion combined into visual gestalts that change with each viewing.

“How do the big things fit with the little things, the sacred with the profane, the good with the bad, and the hot with the cold? I see it all as art, the dance of life, and I want it all in my work.”
Rose Center for the Arts is located at 15th Ave. and Washington Way in Longview. The gallery is open Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays, 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., and Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m.
