We Get Letters – October 2009

October 1, 2009 by Valley Bugler

‘Dear Editor,
I have forwarded a copy of an email I send each month to the Greater Columbia ARTS Network because I noted what a wonderful tribute you wrote to Deena. I had not known that Deena was such an avid runner.

Your comments about Deena running “well into her fifties” reminded me of an Alaska woman named Marcia Trent.

Thank you for the Valley Bugler. It is - like Deena – a major asset in this community.’

- Laurel Murphy, Greater Columbia ARTS Network

(Laurel, thank you for the information and the appreciation of the tribute to Deena. – Michelle Myre, Editor)

‘I just love the Valley Bugler! I want to give you a big hug in thanks! It is so positive and uplifting and incredibly refreshing to read! Now the whole staff wants one!’

- Celeste Woodman, Three Rivers Christian School

‘We use your paper all the time. We went up to the Garlic Festival, and the only reason we did that was because we learned about it in the Valley Bugler! We had so much fun! They were out of Garlic Ice Cream, but we tried everything else that was there, and reeked all the way home!

We also really like finding the Cold Stone coupons before someone else cuts them out!’

- Ryan and Amy Yanez, Readers in Kelso, WA

‘We sure go through a lot of papers here (WinCo). I really enjoy and appreciate the good news of the Valley Bugler!’

- Jill M., Longview WA

‘I’ve been reading the Valley Bugler now for about four or five years. I really enjoy the funnies! I cut articles out of the paper and send them to my friends’.

- Anonymous, Kelso WA

‘The Valley Bugler has been an amazing marketing venue for our heating and cooling business! We have had multiple sales, from people bringing in the ad or referring to the ad in your paper! The advertising response from the readers of this good news paper has been phenomenal! Thank you Valley Bugler!’

- Edwina, 72 Degrees Heating and Cooling

‘Zoo’ (Bill Eagle’s column regarding taking his grandson to the zoo while daddy was serving in Iraq.)

I cried when I read the story. I am praying for all of our people who are overseas and away from their families.

- Sally Conner

We all have to make sacrifices. Thank you Bill for sharing this story with us.

My wife read it and she cried.
