Against Such There is No Law

I want to thank my dear friend, Doris Anderson, for her tireless work for the community, as she and her husband, Lloyd, operate the Creation Information Center located at 4749 Spirit Lake Highway in Silverlake.

Their Visitor’s Center is unique in that it is the only one of the Mount Saint Helen’s Visitor’s Centers that features a world view based upon scripture instead of the currently popular “old-earth” point of view.

Melding science with scripture and being true to both is their specialty.

The place features a lovely terrace for resting and picnics. A gorgeous painting of the mountain is the serene backdrop to the terrace, and there are books and videos and DVDs and magazines galore in their museum bookstore that will inspire and inform readers of every age.

Lloyd formerly pastored a church in the Seattle area, and he and Doris moved here about 10 years ago to help set up and establish the Creation Information Center.

Since its inception, the museum has hosted thousands of visitors – homeschoolers, tourists, foreign exchange students, family groups and many other interested individuals. If you’ve never visited them, you’re missing a treat!

Both Lloyd and Doris are hard workers and take excellent care of the grounds and the museum.

If you are fortunate, when you visit them, Doris will have just made some homemade goodies and some fresh squeezed lemonade. She’s got an amazing gift of hospitality!

Several volunteers, such as Mary Ann, Bruce and some others, help out at the museum if Lloyd & Doris must travel somewhere. They are a wealth of information, too, and fun to visit with.

Lloyd is an expert on the connection between Mt. St. Helens and the story of Noah’s Ark. He has spoken all over the Northwest and Canada and is well worth listening to.

They have a lending library featuring all kinds of things for your family to view or for your class to read, view and discuss. They also have lots of freebie handouts and pamphlets, and you should plan on staying a while to “drink it all in!”

Call first, to make sure they are there: 360-274-5737. Their usual hours of operation are Monday thru Saturday 9am-7pm. Sundays, they are typically open noon to 7pm. For a memorable adventure and a great visit with a wonderful couple, head for the Creation Information Center and Seven Wonders Museum in SIlverlake, Washington. You’ll be glad you did!
