“Lira”

September 1, 2009 by Valley Bugler

Beautiful Lira – she poses like a professional model, but she has none of the demands that some divas require. Oh, she loves soft things, like a pillow on the sofa to catch a quick cat nap. And she wouldn’t turn away a dish of moist food.  She is easily pleased.

Lira came into rescue as an emergency. She had been suffering through labor for over 48 hours, with no results.  The owner did not have the money for emergency surgery, and elected to euthanize the cat.  The Veterinary Clinic immediately called Rescued Paws with a request: Could we save this sweet kitty?  We immediately scheduled surgery, but it was too late for the kittens. Sadly, all the kittens were stillborn, as a result of the stress of extended labor.

In spite of this suffering, this beautiful girl holds no grudges, shows no negative effects of the ordeal. She loves to be held and petted and is very social and trusting.  Lira would make a wonderful family addition.
