Dogapaloooooza! Sept. 19th

The 2nd annual DOGAPALOOZA will happen on Saturday, September 19th at the Cowlitz County Fairgrounds. The gates open at 10:00 am, and the day culminates with the hilarious Wiener Dog Races at 5:30 pm.
Admission is free, but a $5 entry fee is required for the Wiener Dog Races and the Costume Contest. Grab your family, your dogs and some water bottles, and get ready to have a fabulous time at the Cowlitz County Fairgrounds with DOGAPALOOZA!
DOGAPALOOZA is a fund-raiser for The Humane Society of Cowlitz County. Any monetary or food donations will be appreciated. All dogs must be properly vaccinated.
DOGAPALOOZA is all about having fun with dogs. Bring yours and participate. Bring the family and watch the fun. Nothing serious will be going on—just lots of fun!
Everything will happen on the grassy field in the SW corner of the fairgrounds along 7th Ave. across from the Farmers’ Market.
The highlight will be the Wiener Dog Races. It’s crazy. It’s chaotic. It’s a barrel of laughs.
You need one person at the starting line and another at the finish line. We turn them loose in heats of 6. Some run. Some meander around. Some never leave the starting line. You’ll laugh til your sides hurt.
The schedule of events is still being set, but here are some of the highlights:
Lure racing – How fast is your dog? Try out the racetrack.
Costume Contest – How cute & clever can you be?
Ball Fiend – Does your dog fetch? Laugh at a group of dogs chasing a group of balls.
Fashion Show – See what’s happening in the world of doggie fashion.
(Entry fee to costume show is $5)
Toilet Paper Walk – How far can you walk your dog with a leash made of toilet paper?
Police Dog Demonstrations – See the skills of a bona fide police dog. You will be amazed!
Silly Dog Contests – things like longest tail, shortest ears, and best kisser!
Sled Dog Demonstrations – See dogs that have raced the Iditarod.
Treadmill Training – Burn that energy. Try your dog out on the treadmill.
Pet Psychic – Find out what’s really on your dog’s mind.
We’ll also have K-9 chiropractic, licensing, dog caricatures, rescue groups, micro-chipping, vendor booths with lots of cool doggie stuff, and concessions.
Our goal is to make DOGAPALOOZA more fun than any other dog event in the Northwest! All you have to do is tell everyone you know about it, and come experience the fun!
