Castle Rock fair is “Going for the GREEN”. Recycle and reuse is the name of the game. Special Exhibit at the fair–Recycle or Reuse can be entered is any department. The item must be appropriate for that department. Example–Rabbits-reuse a box put fertilizer in it and raise worms. In the Home Ec. area take plastic bags and crochet a purse. Enter in Class XYZ Lot. l.

Meet Tre Fess: Kalama TRACK STAR

Kalama High School may have a potential world class track star in their midst; Tre Fess. Tre (pronounced Tray) is 15 and in the 9th Grade. He is a Javelin thrower and is now entering sports events where he is forced to compete and beat High school students who are older than he is.
My wife and I visited Tre at his grandfather’s farm in Kalama. His grandfather, Mike Fess, raises thoroughbred racehorses and chickens.
