Castle Rock Fair – Ideas, anyone?

April 1, 2009 by Yvonne Knuth

Castle Rock Fair is looking for a theme for this year. It was suggested something about “green”. Please send ideas to Box 655, Castle Rock, WA 98611 by April 10 so the theme can be chosen from all suggestions.

Many volunteers have come forward to help with the cleanup of the fairgrounds after the January flood. The buildings are now cleaned out, waiting for some dry weather, so painting can be done. Work parties are usually every two weeks. Call Yvonne at 274-8422 for further information or to help out! A special thank you to the many pairs of hands who made for light work together! You are appreciated.

Hey Yvonne, you should have my mom be one of the judges for the dahlias at the fair this year. She is an accredited judge and also she is the president of the Portland Dahlia Society. How about that? I could see the newspaper headline for the Castle Rock fair saying “Castle Rock Fair dahlias has been judged by a commercial dahlia grower from Castle Rock. Teresa Bergman is an accredited judge for the American Dahlia Society and is the current president of the Portland Dahlia Society. The dahlias has been judged in the same manner as they are judged in the big dahlia shows……” I believe that you have my mom’s number, so go ahead and give her a call.
