Longview Senior Activities - March 2009

The Longview Senior Center located at 1111 Commerce Avenue, Longview is open to all seniors.  Membership is only $10/year.  Follows is their calendar of events for March.

Sunday, March 1st at 12:30 p.m. Pinochle Tournament.  Fee:  $5.00

Tuesday, March 3rd Designated “Craft” Day, Jewelry Repair $5.00 and Down Home Singers

Thursday, March 5th, Scrap  Iron Band and dancing.

Tuesday, March 10th, Josh Gibson on the Guitar playing Country Music

Thursday, March 12th Music by the ”Three of Us”

Saturday, March 14th & 28th Saturday Bingo at 12:30.  Lunch is served at 11:45 a.m.

Sunday, March 15th 12:15 p.m. Cribbage Tournament and potluck lunch.  $5.00 fee. We play one-on-one tournament style.

Tuesday, March 17th, 11:30 a.m. St. Patrick’s Day Luncheon serving Irish Stew.  Bagpipes and entertainment will be provided by Lyle Sanders and David Stredwick at 12:30 p.m.

Thursday, March 19th at 12:30 p.m. Sally Gene & Friends Band and dancing.

Sunday, March 22nd, 2 to 5 p.m. Dance with Bluegrass music by Alder Creek.  Refreshments will be potluck.  $5.00 donation. There will be an “open mike.”

Tuesday, March 24th  at 12:30 p.m. Music by the “Three of Us” and Kaiser representative talking about health insurance, Medicare plans and information for veterans.

Thursday, March 26th  at 12:30 p.m. Retreads Band & Dance.

Tuesday, March 31st, at 12:30 p.m. Armand’s Country Band.

Regularly scheduled events include:

• Mondays—12:30 and 7:00 p.m. Pinochle
• Tuesdays: 9:00 Line Dance, 10:00 Dominos, at 11:15 a.m., Lunch at Noon and 1-3 p.m. Ladies Pool
• Wednesdays—10:00 Canasta, 10:00 and 12:30 Bingo, Lunch at Noon,  7 p.m. Pinochle
• Thursdays —9:00 Line Dance, 10:00 Games, Lunch at Noon and 1:00 Woodcarvers
• Fridays— 12:30 Pinochle, 1:00 Bunco, 6 p.m. Double Deck Pinochle
• Saturdays– 10-2:00 Drop In, 11-3:00 Games, 7:00 Pinochle
