Myre Baby Update December 2009

Well, at the time of printing and deadline, we still have no baby. Which is fine, since our due date isn’t until the 27th of December anyhow!! So, by the time you are reading this, we will DEFINITELY have had our baby!!

We have to have a cute little cherubim on the cover for February, don’t you know? Another special thanks to Pat McDonald, reader and fan of the Valley Bugler, who crocheted a simply divine baby blankie for this little one, and delivered it personally. (Remember – she also made two others for when our youngest, Cora, had her tonsils out? Same gal back at it again! How absolutely special!) So, thank you Pat – you are a tremendous blessing to those around you, and we were blessed with your kindness through “blankie blessings”!

One fun thing that we did in early December, as many of you have been following, is the eBaby auction! Yes, we auctioned off the little tidbit of information stored inside a Longview Radiologist envelope that contains the gender of our baby! Why? Just for fun, of course!

The envelope went for a total of $76, and was won by a Mr. Jesse Perbix of Seattle. Longtime friend and buddy of Oscar, Jesse was “thrilled to win” the envelope, and said it was an easy win.

Of course, that was only after a last minute bidding war with Ms. Retha Porter of PeaceHealth Hospital in Longview! In the end, Jesse won out and is hoarding his prize with relished glee.

We’ll have to be sure and ask him if the ultrasound technician was RIGHT once the baby is born!! Wouldn’t that be a hoot? Well, it’s been known to happen a few times….

These last few days of pregnancy are some of the most uncomfortable and yet most exhilarating at the same time! While I have done the majority of my Christmas shopping online and then enlisted my husband to the remainder, I’ve missed being out in the “frey”. I am playing Christmas music constantly, my house looks like the North Pole Christmas factory threw up everywhere, and I can’t wipe the silly grin off my face!

I had some marvelous maternity pictures taken with Dimmick Photography, which included poses with my girls, Oscar, and then just myself.

Dimmick Photography is a nationally recognized photography and portrait artist studio that relocated from California to the “slower pace” and beauty of the Northwest. Husband and wife team work incredibly well together, and it was an absolute joy to do the session.

So other than being bigger than a watermelon, my hips are killing me, I don’t sleep at night, and I constantly munch on Tums.
