Longview Senior Activities – September 2008

Special Speaker Series Starts at Longview Senior Center.

Starting in mid-August, the Longview Senior Center begins a series of speakers of particular interest to older adults; anyone is welcome to attend.  Each lecture will be held at the Center, 1111 Commerce Avenue.  Parking is limited but more spaces are available in the city parking lot across Commerce Avenue.  Lunch on Tuesdays at 12:00 for those planning to attend: $4.00 for member; $4:50 for non-members.

  • Tuesday, September. 2nd: 12:30:   Mark Kay Cosmetics hosted by Balinda.
  • Friday, September. 5th: 10:00: Detective Doug Kazensky, Longview Police Dept.
  • Tuesday, September 9th: 12:30: Banda’s Florist hosted by Linda show how to arrange flowers.
  • Friday, September 12th: 11:00:  Dave Andrew – PUD talking about senior discount, reducing usage and saving money.
  • Tuesday, September 16TH:  12:30:  Sondra Napier-Marshall from FL Napier & Associates – Information on free hearing aids for those who qualify.
  • Friday, September 19TH:: 10:00:  Jensen and Sons – Estate and Retirement Planning “Let your heirs get your money not the government”
  • Tuesday, September.23rd:  12:30: Jewelry Making ($5.00 fee).
  • Friday, September 26th 10:00:   Cowlitz County Museum – David Freece – slide show about 1933 Flood.
  • Tuesday, September 30th: 12:30:  Scrapbook making ($5.00 fee).
